Find out more about how Charanga supports primary schools.
When working with Music services to support primary and special schools in your area, we provide everything from training and CPD to deeper integrations around ASN and workforce development. We work closely with the Music service management team to develop a resource, training and support programme that fully supports their broader objectives – for example, around singing strategies, WCET provision or curriculum support.
We fully understand that each of our Music service partners will have different priorities and objectives, and we will always work with you to make sure that Charanga is working in the best possible way to support you.
Several funding models are available to support your schools, from fully subsidised to joint-funded and self-funded options.
Based on our own experiences of working in education systems worldwide, music education in the primary classroom is at the heart of being able to ensure all children can participate freely in cultural life and the arts – as should be the right of every child.
Our work with partners in Scotland has shown that giving generalist classroom teachers the skills and confidence to introduce music across a whole school and connecting them with the range of local support that’s available in the form of instrumental provision, YMI projects and CPD & Training, can produce long-lasting positive effects on extending children’s access to high-quality music learning.
Our primary school support collaborations with Music services have been hugely successful over several years. The high number of these partnerships and their enduring nature are testament to the added value they create.
