Not all young people have access to a computer at home, but many have a smartphone, whether it’s their own, a family member’s, or a friend’s. YuStudio® Mobile makes it easier for them to keep creating music outside school and on the go. After all, great musical ideas don’t always wait until lesson time; they come at unexpected moments!

An overview

YuStudio® Mobile is built for live performance, creation and experimentation. Tracks can be exported and worked on in the full YuStudio DAW. So, young people can now start creating music at home and continue developing their work at school, in a library, or anywhere they have access to a computer.

Key features

Make beats, sketch musical ideas, and perform live from your phone or tablet, using touchscreen instruments and effects.

Sounds

Drum kits, basses, synths, orchestral and acoustic sounds and more, triggered from an on-screen keyboard or drum pads. Synth sounds can be opened in the full DAW later for deeper sound design.

Clips

Each clip holds one part of a project – drums, bass, synth, another instrument or melody line. Participants can edit, trigger live, copy between pads, and combine clips into new arrangements.

Arrange & perform

See your whole project at once and trigger clips live as a performance. Test new combinations of clips, play instruments over the top using the pads or keyboard, and adjust FX in real time — the whole performance can be captured as a recording.

Pads & keys

Touchscreen pads give you tactile control for rhythms and live triggering. The on-screen keys turn your phone into a playable instrument for performing or sketching ideas.

Key highlighting

Pick a key or scale and the matching notes light up across the clip view and playable instruments — helpful for staying in key, learning scales, or teaching. You can also “fold” the keyboard to show only the notes in your chosen scale, making it easier for beginners to play.

Dials, controls & FX

Every instrument has its own touchscreen controls, plus access to individual track FX and shared FX – Delay, Reverb, Pitch Shift, Lofi, Wobbler, Warmth, Crusher, Crunch Echo, Filter, and Brain Melt – adjusted via sliders or an X-Y controller.

Recording automation

Movements on sliders and the X-Y controller can be recorded per clip, so your live FX tweaks become part of the track. This automation exports with the project for further refinement in the DAW.

Performance recording

Capture an entire live session – clips, instruments, and FX moves – as a single recording, then open it in the full DAW to develop into a finished track.

Export to YuStudio®

Use the app as an on-the-go sketchpad. Everything exports and loads into the full YuStudio® DAW ready to edit.
